Synopsis
Dr. Cohen is a graduate of the Joyce and Irving Goldman Medical School at Ben Gurion university of the Negev. He is a board certified medical oncologist and attending physician at Hadassah Hebrew-University Medical Center. He also hold the position of lecturer at the Hebrew University. In his clinical work, Dr. Cohen focuses on general oncology, while in parallel establishing his unique clinic of malignant melanoma and cancer immunotherapy. The objective of the clinic is to leverage and extend novel therapies based on the immune system in melanoma as well as in other solid tumors. Dr. Cohen also sees patients suffering from gastrointestinal malignancies to which he plans to introduce immunotherapy both at the preventive adjuvant setting as well as in treating metastatic disease. Dr. Cohen is a co-investigator on several multi-center clinical trials.
Dr. Cohen completed an M.Sc. under the mentorship of Prof. Hermona Soreq and Prof. Alon Friedman and a PhD under the mentorship of Prof. Alon Friedman at Ben Gurion university of the Negev. Dr. Cohen explored the role of acetylcholineesterase in adult murine neurognensis and conducted functional neuro-imaging, cognitive and molecular studies relating to humans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. He is currently involved in research projects looking at the proteomics of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) as well as developing methods for in-vivo labeling and tracking TIL’s. Dr. Cohen has presented his work in international conferences and in peer reviewed journals.
