The Hadassah Medical Organization, a more than one thousand bed medical center located on two campuses (Ein Kerem and Mount Scopus), including out-patient and day care services, stands at the forefront of modern medicine and provides the highest standard of medical care. The Hadassah Hospitals also serve as the main teaching centers for the Hebrew University - Hadassah School of Medicine.
The Gandel Rehabilitation Center, located on the Mount Scopus campus, opened its doors in January 2024 and, upon completion, will be the largest rehabilitation facility in Israel.
1. Specialty (Board) Certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation;
2. At least 10 years (from completion of residency) of extensive clinical experience in all aspects of rehabilitation, experience in the field of orthopedics and spinal cord injuries is desirable;
3. Extensive experience and proven ability to organize and lead a large staff of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel. Ability to provide clinical and educational leadership in a complex multidisciplinary milieu with responsibility for clinical services, teaching and research;
4. Preferred: an academic rank of at least senior lecturer in a recognized Israeli medical school or a comparable academic appointment in a recognized medical school outside Israel, which will allow the applicant to qualify for a senior academic appointment at the Hebrew University – Hadassah School of Medicine;
5. Extensive experience in educating medical students and residents, both as a lecturer and a bedside teacher;
6. Preferred: experience in organizing and performing research, success in obtaining competitive national and international grant funding;
7. Job requirements are subject to adaptation given the changing needs of the departments.
8. The elected director will work within the Rehabilitation Division headed by a division director, and will be subordinate to her and to the Hospital Director, within the framework of the definition of powers established in Hadassah.
Responsibilities of the Department Head will be per the job description established by Hadassah.
The position is for 6 years, with the first 2 years being probationary. At the end of 6 years there is the possibility of a 4-year extension.
At the completion of serving as department head for at least 6 years, continued employment will be within the Rehabilitation Division with conditions of employment corresponding to that of a unit head.
This position is located on the Mt. Scopus campus. Hadassah reserves the right to relocate, at its discretion, whoever is elected to the position to the Ein Kerem campus as well.
