פרופ' גלית אלמוזנינו סיימה את לימודיה לתואר B.Med. Sc בהצטיינות באוניברסיטה העברית כחלק ממסלול

לימודיה לתואר DMD .את לימודיה לתואר DMD סיימה בשנת 1996 .באותה שנה גם סיימה את עבודת ה M.Sc שלה במדעים ביו-רפואיים.

בשנת 2003 פרופ' אלמוזנינו סיימה תואר במינהל מערכות בריאות M.H.A באוניברסיטת בן גוריון בהצטיינות יתרה.

בשנת 2007 סיימה את תכנית ההתמחות ברפואת הפה במחלקה לרפואת הפה בפקולטה לרפואת שיניים באוניברסיטה העברית הדסה. בזמן התמחותה הוענק לה פרס אינו שאקי למתמחה המצטיין.

בשנת 2019 סיימה את לימודיה לתואר MPH במסלול אפידמיולוגיה וביו-סטטיסטיקה בבית הספר לבריאות הציבור ע"ש בראון של האוניברסיטה העברית, בו זכתה בפרס הצטיינות ע"ש צ'סטר וטובה הורוביץ.

Prof. Galit Almoznino earned her B.Med.Sc. degree with honors from the Hebrew University as part of her dental studies, completing her DMD in 1996. That same year, she also earned her M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences.

In 2003, Prof. Almoznino graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

She completed her residency in Oral Medicine at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine in 2007, during which she was awarded the Ino Sciaky Prize for Outstanding Resident.

In 2019, she earned her MPH (Master of Public Health) specializing in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the Hebrew University, where she received the Chester and Tova Horowitz Award for academic excellence.

פרופ אלמוזנינו היא רופאת שיניים מומחית ברפואת הפה. ייסדה ומנהלת מאז את המרפאה להפרעות תחושה באיזור האורפציאלי במחלקה לרפואת הפה. בהמשך בנוסף היא מנהלת את המרפאה להפרעות טעם וריח במסגרת המחלקה לרפואת הפה. מרפאות אלו גובשו לכלל מרפאה אחת ייחודית ברמה ארצית לאיבחון וטיפול ב- Orofacial chemosensory disorders.

Clinical Experience

Prof. Galit Almoznino is a specialist in Oral Medicine. She founded and has since directed the Orofacial Sensory Disorders Clinic within the Department of Oral Medicine. In addition, she serves as the Director of the Taste and Smell Disorders Clinic.

Under her leadership, these services have been integrated into a single, specialized center—the only one of its kind in Israel—dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of Orofacial Chemosensory Disorders.

תחומי מחקר מרכזיים:

מחקר ה-DOME (Dental, Oral, Medical Epidemiological): פרופ' אלמוזנינו הקימה את המחקר הראשון בישראל המבוסס על רשומות רפואיות אלקטרוניות (EMR) בקנה מידה לאומי. המחקר בוחן את הקשר בין תחלואת שיניים למחלות סיסטמיות. ), הקשר בין מצבי כאב אורופציאלי לשינה והיבטים פסיכו-ביו-סוציאלים בפתולוגיות אורופציאליות.

בריאות דיגיטלית וניטור מרחוק: פיתוח יישומי mHealth (בריאות ניידת), כמו פרויקט RheumaticMonitor, המשלב מודולים חישוביים לניתוח רשומות רפואיות יחד עם אפליקציה וחיישנים לניטור חולים במחלות כרוניות וחיזוי התפרצויות של המחלה.

רפואה מנבאת, בינה מלאכותית (AI)

• UK Biobank: שימוש בלמידת מכונה (Machine Learning) על מאגר נתונים של 500,000 פרטים לפיתוח סמנים מנבאים למחלות דנטליות ומחלות אוטואימוניות.

• Agentic AI: מחקר העוסק ביצירת נתוני אורך סינתטיים באמצעות בינה מלאכותית אוטונומית לניהול מותאם אישית של חולים.

חיבור מאגרי מידע קליניים עם מאגרים המכילים דגימות ביולוגיות כגון ביופסיות ודגימות רוק: עבודתה המדעית בתחום הציטוקינים והפרוטאומיקה ברוק הובילה לזיהוי פרופיל ציטוקינים מאפיין למחלות אוטואימוניות כגון סיוגרן ,דלקת מפרקים ולסרטן בלוטת התריס, ולפרויקטים אסטרטגיים עבור מפא"ת וצה"ל למיון נפגעים במצבי טראומה באמצעות זיהוי לא פולשני דרך הרוק.

בריאות השן ומדיניות ציבורית בגיל השלישי: בחינה לאומית של פערים וצריכת שירותים . מחקר לאומי ראשון מסוגו להערכת הרפורמה בשירותי השן לקשישים, שימוש ברפואה מרחוק (Telehealth) ופערים בין מרכז לפריפריה, במימון המכון הלאומי לחקר שירותי הבריאות .

Prof. Galit Almoznino is the founder and head of the Head, Big Biomedical Data Research Laboratory, at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine—the first laboratory of its kind in Israel. Her research focuses on Big Data, Digital Epidemiology, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the fields of dentistry and oral medicine.

The laboratory conducts multiple studies supported by competitive research grants and provides mentorship for graduate students (M.Sc., Ph.S., and DMD) working with large-scale biomedical databases. Lab Website: www.almozninolab.com

Key Research Areas:

• The DOME (Dental, Oral, Medical Epidemiological) Study: Prof. Almoznino established first national-scale study based on Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in Israel. This research examines the complex associations between oral health and systemic diseases, the link between orofacial pain and sleep disorders, and the psycho-bio-social aspects of orofacial pathologies.

• Digital Health & Remote Monitoring: Development of mHealth (mobile health) applications, such as the RheumaticMonitor project. This initiative integrates computational modules for EMR analysis with mobile apps and sensors to monitor chronic patients and predict disease exacerbations and remissions.

• Predictive Medicine & Artificial Intelligence (AI):

o UK Biobank: Utilizing Machine Learning on a dataset of 500,000 individuals to develop predictive biomarkers for dental and autoimmune diseases.

o Agentic AI: Research focused on generating synthetic longitudinal data through autonomous AI to enable personalized patient management.

• Bio-Clinical Data Integration (Salivary Proteomics): By linking clinical databases with biological samples (biopsies and saliva), Prof. Almoznino’s work in cytokines and proteomics has identified specific profiles for autoimmune diseases (such as Sjögren’s Syndrome and Rheumatoid Arthritis) and Thyroid Cancer.

• Geriatric Oral Health & Public Policy: A first-of-its-kind national study evaluating the reform of dental services for the elderly in Israel. Funded by the National Institute for Health Policy Research, this work examines service consumption, the use of Telehealth, and healthcare disparities between central and peripheral regions.
